Occupational Therapists

We have worked alongside Occupational Therapists since the very early conception of Timberharps. Our goal is to create objects that help people and improve their lives.

To do that our Timberharps are researched from two angles; how to help therapists engage with their clients; and how to help people who are struggling to engage with their surroundings.

We create objects that are beautiful to look at, feel lovely to touch and sound wonderful too. We've added a few layers of programming and simple but very effective electronics which make Timberharps an absolute joy to play with.

Children love them, teenagers engage with them and adults find them surprising, intriguing and delightful. This is helped by the simple fact that they are made of beautiful polished wood, in a world where most aids more closely resemble medical equipment.

Our therapists notice a positive response and a  calming effect from the musical interactions and often tell us how that helps their clients or patients access therapy.

Our Music Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists and Psychotherapists have all noticed similar results. Our experienced professionals work in the following fields where Timberharps have been proven to have a positive influence:

  • Trauma recovery

  • Stroke recovery

  • Autism & Asperger's Syndrome

  • Physical disabilities including cerebral palsy

  • Spinal injury recovery

  • Personal loss and bereavement

TESTIMONIAL:

"The Timberharp is a great therapeutic tool for engaging with people. It not only creates beautiful sounds, it also calms and soothes, creating a safe space for interaction and expression."
