Yew Too

Goodwood Yew Series #2

Description

Yew is renowned for its association with magic and witchcraft and is still used today in chemotherapy. It was widely believed that Yew trees poisoned soil and killed cattle which was why they were planted in graveyards, where no further harm could be done. This tree grew on the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex.

This is the second piece in the series from the same tree. The strong grain patterns and interested colour features make this piece unique and it has a beautifully wavy double "live edge".
